The Diocese of Renk

Renk became a diocese in 1995 and Daniel Deng was consecrated as its first bishop. Bishop Joseph Atem was consecreted bishop in 2008 and replaced Bishop Daniel who is now Archbishop.

Renk has the first ever African female dean of its cathedral, St Mathews; Martha Deng.

Renk covers 32,000 square kilometres but has an estimated population of only 120,000.

Renk diocese has a link relationship with the Diocese of Chicago and St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Barrington, Illinois is linked with Renk Theological College and the Diocese of Renk.
